The BMWcup cars will run within Class BMWcup they have a minimum weight applied and other Techincal regulations including all running the same control parts or standard parts as per additional regulations to this link

Some of the main things to note are that costs will be controlled to help all drivers

​

Each car will have a log-book to show it history and parts fitted and also will require a valid MOT as some people may wish to drive to the circuits

​

Standard parts to be retained include:

All exterior panels - windows can be changed

Engine, Gearbox, prop and Diff, front arms, rear upper arms and all mounting points

If heater removed a heated screen is to be fitted

Fuel tank to remain as per original - additonal pump can be added

The original basis is around close and competitive racing but enjoyable so all the drivers, friends and family have a good time and go home with a smile on their faces.

 

Initially launched at Autosport with the help of the BMWCC GB in 2015 it has grown organically through word of mouth and social media so that by Autosport 2016 the number of drivers competeing an building cars are now well into double figures.

 

The target is to get 25-30 cars maximum to maintain the friendly atmosphere

Powers will be checked and also a minimum weight will apply to keep the cars as close as possible and the drivers to be the difference

 

Plans are also in place to control budgestongoing so noone gets carried away - all will be recvealed

 

The drivers will have a big say in what happens - but budget will be controlled as will driving standards
